The Pro Bowl Games bring together the NFL's top performers, voted in by fans, players and coaches. In recent years the event has combined a flag-football all-star game with a week of skills challenges, replacing the traditional tackle format. Rosters are announced after the regular season, ahead of the Super Bowl.
NFL Pro Bowl Games 2026-27
The NFL Pro Bowl Games are the league's annual all-star celebration, held the week before the Super Bowl. Renamed from the traditional Pro Bowl format in 2023, the event now features a week of skills competitions, flag football, and team challenges — replacing the old tackle game format. Players are selected by a combination of fan votes, player votes, and coach votes. Being named a Pro Bowler is one of the highest individual honours in the NFL, and is tracked in career resumes, Hall of Fame bids, and contract negotiations.

Flag Football Game
The centerpiece event. AFC vs NFC in a flag football game — full speed, no pads, played for bragging rights.
Skills Competitions
Fastest player, strongest arm, best hands — individual skill contests run across the week for all positions.
Fan Voting
Fans cast votes online for their favourite players at each position. Fan votes count for one third of the selection.
Player + Coach Votes
Current players vote for peers, and coaches vote for opposing conference players. Each counts one third.
